God dwells in all things, in sunrise and sunset, in green trees and yellow sunflowers, in all living things on this earth. Even more does God dwell within us, giving life, understanding, laughter, hope, love. God is already present when we settle down to pray, waiting to listen… Sit quietly for a moment, just be still in the presence of God, who called you into being and is always concerned for you. If it helps, pray these lines slowly a few times aloud or in the quiet of your heart: Lord, I believe that you are present to me now…. ….Strengthen my belief…. Stay with this for as long as you wish. Allow your awareness of the presence of the Lord to deepen. Give yourself to God’s silent and constant love, the holy silence that embraces the world, the holy silence that embraces you right now as you sit here today.
