Remember your confirmation day. Try to picture it in your mind. You might remember the date, or the age you were at the time - 10 or 11 perhaps. How you were dressed. The medal or red rosette you might have worn. The sense of excitement…the church ceremony…the visits afterwards… Perhaps the unease you felt that the Bishop might ask a question may come back to you! At some point, you were anointed with oil, and then the Bishop said ‘receive the gift of the Holy Spirit’.

God is saying the same to you right now, offering the gift of the Holy Spirit. Focus on that. Receive that gift today.

Open up to the gifts of the Holy Spirit given to us…love, peace, joy, wisdom, faithfulness, courage, healing… signs of God’s caring presence in our lives.
