The new Rock Wing of the Mater Hospital on Eccles Street recently opened. It is a new 100 bed wing built in response to the Covid pandemic. The beautiful new, state of the art, Respiratory ward has been named in honour of Bl. John Sullivan, born on Eccles Street, in recognition of his dedicated work with the poor and afflicted and the healing power of his prayers.
The John Sullivan Ward opened with an official blessing in December 2023.
