Weekly Newsletter - 31st March 2024

Dear Parishioners,

On behalf of myself, Fr Richard, the parish team and the Jesuit community here at Gardiner St, I wish you and your families a very happy Easter.

The Risen Christ doesn’t offer us an easy or comfortable life, but Life itself. I am very grateful to be part of a parish community that is very much alive, amidst all the ups and downs. Jesus is the heartbeat of our community and He is Risen. Alleluia!

Every blessing,

Fr Niall

P.S. Enjoy the chocolate!

NEWLY BAPTISED

We welcome Amirtha, Diego and Finlay into the Christian Community through the Sacrament of Baptism celebrated in St. Francis Xavier’s Church. May the Holy Spirit be with them and guide them always.

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINAR

8th April - 20th May 2024

Mondays, 7pm

Life in the Spirit Seminar is a 7 week journey that helps us to get to know the Holy Spirit better. Most of us have a relationship with Jesus, we more or less relate to God the Father, however the Holy Spirit can appear like a forgotten person from the Holy Trinity. And yet a deep love that God has for us is often experienced through the Holy Spirit.  In confirmation we receive the Holy Spirit in particular, but His gifts in us need to be activated. The astonishing stories we read in the Acts of the Apostles still happen today, when people allow themselves to be led by the Holy Spirit. How? Come and find out! Come and discover what beautiful gifts the Holy Spirit has for you. Let yourself be surprised by the astonishing love of God!

We start on Monday, 8th April at 7pm in Ignatian chapel. Niall and Billy, from Northern Ireland, will share about the love of God the Father, and then will take time to pray for those who attend. Some of you experienced prayer through gifts of the Holy Spirit for the first-time last year when they came to speak on the opening night of the Life in the Spirit Seminar. I remember so many of you being blessed with words God told you through them.

Even if you have attended Life in the Spirit Seminar before, be free to join us. There is always more with God!. Sign up on our website.

THE LITTLE ELEVEN – ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AT MASS.

Every second Sunday at the 11 am Mass we offer enjoyable faith activities for primary school children in the coffee room with two safeguarded adults. We call it The Little Eleven. The children go out just before the first reading and they come back at the offertory to join us for the Eucharist. A parent or guardian is also welcome to join if they wish to. For more information please contact Iva Beranek sfx@jesuit.ie or talk to one of the parish team.
